7th Grade Band
The 7th Grade Band is the next step for Rensselaer students in their musical journey. Members will continue to build upon skills learned in the year previous and will meet as a full ensemble every day during the school year. Students in 7th Grade Band will begin reading more sheet music, learn more advanced musical techniques, and explore more about their instruments.
Any 7th grade student who wishes to participate in band will have the opportunity to do so, even if he or she was not a part of the 6th Grade Band. Students who wish to continue to develop even further are encouraged to participate in the Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) Solo and Ensemble non-competitive contest. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in the Indiana Bandmasters' Association (IBA) All Region Band.
7th grade band students perform a minimum of 4 performances throughout the year:

- Rensselaer Fall Band Festival in October
- Rensselaer Winter Band Concert in December
